Price Hillharmonic

In 2015, Price Hill Will received a grant from the Kresge Foundation through LISC Greater Cincinnati to incorporate Creative Placemaking into our work. This new initiative was led by Laura Jekel, MYCincinnati Founder and former Price Hill Will staff member. One activity Laura undertook was playing music in Kroger every week to grow neighbor’s interest in MYCincinnati.  As a result, many residents expressed the desire to learn an instrument. The following year, Laura founded the Price Hillharmonic with an initial group of 30 adults. 

 

The Price Hillharmonic is a community orchestra open to neighborhood adults with or without any prior musical experience. Participants practice once a week and most of the adults who join are learning an instrument from scratch. Since 2016, the Price Hillharmonic has been an amazing way for people in the neighborhood to learn music and build a stronger community.
